Hil, time to give up the Hill

Time to let go I think. We fought a good fight. Now let's win one for the Donkeys....

Sorry, Polikat. I know you wanted it. I would have been very happy with Hillary as the nominee.

I don't think primary voters were choosing based on issues, but rather on personality and momentum. This race is just another example that very early leaders have everything to lose.

Did I miss something important while I was wandering the crowds of the Magic Kingdom? It really was magical, I suppose, if it insulated me from politics for a day.

Anyway, there are so many dynamics going on this year. On a policy level, these two candidates are very similar (with the possible exception of flexing military muscle outside our own borders). Thus, we all vote our emotions based on many things. Gender and race are the most obvious. The baggage that Hillary carries is inescapable, as is Obama's lack of experience. I suspect there's also a bit of a double-Bush backlash against Clinton... as in, we tried two Bushes, and maybe that wasn't such a good idea, so we shouldn't try two Clintons.

Anyway, I maintain that either would make a fine president, especially following the buffoon that's in there now. I'll vote for whichever gets the nomination.

I think Obama will do just fine. I liked Hillary, thought her experience was a real value, but then again, change is good. I'm just ready to move on to beat McCain. I would hate to see another Republican in the house.

I will vote for either one, but do like Obama much better.
