3WW - writer prompt - t-shirt.punch.unraveled

Hub:
Startled by the loud challenge, I turned around just in time to see to see Glen throw the first punch that knocked that bastard biker clean off his bar stool. In a flash, even before motor boy's head cracked on the floor, everything began to unravel. The mayhem was instantaneous – fists and bottles were flying everywhere, and the last thing I remember before I woke up here in the E.R. was the warm surge of my own blood drenching my t-shirt dark red.

Me:
It was New Years and predictably, my scrawny little Uncle showed up, greasy haired with his same old joke, “How about a Hawaiian Punch?” Followed by a swift hit on my arm. Usually, I’d respond with artificial laughter. But this time I felt my patience unravel. I yanked him by the t-shirt, and told him one more time, I’d beat the living crap out of him. It wasn’t until Memorial Day that he asked that question again.

Different vibes, both amusing and tightly written. Very cool

Two equally entertaining takes on the words.

Before I read it I thought you were going to show us how differently two people "remember" the same event. I really liked reading them both. It was written as two events, wasn't it? I have met a few people that probably view the world that differently from each other.

The 1st was my husband's and totally unrelated, the 2nd was mine.

It always amazes me how the two of you manage to tell complete stories in such succint entries.

Like them both. Good job.

Thanks for the good thoughts.

TC - our goal is succinctness only because we have children jumping on us or pulling at us most of the time. :-)

Love how you and your husband can tell such different but pithy both truly good stories

I also thought that you were going to give two different takes on the same event - it's good to have expectations challenged. I'm also a fan of succinctness. i liked them both.

OK, I chuckled at the Hawaiian punch line :) What? I'd never heard it before.

My grandfather told that joke more times that I can count.
