Despite a dozen roses and an apology on her bureau, she felt distant. It wasn’t her tears running down her face. It wasn’t him that she had been fighting with. Her thoughts would race on and on into the night. She would sit alone, paralyzed, shivering by her bed and she would consider picking up the phone to call him. But always, her mind would think better of it. It was time to move on.
